Honey you ain't losing your hair from the Sun or Salt Water, it's those Chemicals

In the past 30 years of being a Hairstylist and literally doing over 10k People from all Ethnicities, I have been particularly interested in how products affect our bodies, mainly because I grew sickly with a ton of allergies. It was very important to me to use products that didn't affect my health or my clients.

I became the go to Hair Enhancement/Replacement Specialist for Women and Men who were chemically sensitive because of health issues or  simply just had the high standards of sustainable, naturally grown products that our Earth provides in it's purest form. I also wrote a Book called Amazing Hair Organically, The Secrets of Women with Beautiful Hair from around the World.

In the intro I wrote about how the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) tested over 98 shampoos and haircare products, finding most contained endocrine disrupting chemicals that may cause hair loss and a host of other hair problems like frizzy, thinning, breakage and hair loss. 50 Million Women are losing their hair every year.

We seem to look at the benefits of what a product can do, rarely in the past have many actually considered the long term affects of using them..

Here are some chemicals you may want to stay away from

  • Glyoxal is an antimicrobial preservative that works by forming formaldehyde in cosmetic products.
  • Dimethyl DMDM hydantoin  known as a formaldehyde donor...

Only in high doses they see the allergic reaction of these can happen but how many products do we inhale and put into our hair or on our skin regularly? Here are other chemicals to research just to be informed... I'm not the Doctor here so I'm just helping you to be more aware.

  • Dinethlimidazoldine
  • DMDMHydation
  • Hyroxymethylglycinate
  • Imidazolidines urea
  • Quaternium-15
A good rule of thumb to prevent using these are sticking with sustainable, eco-friendly and plant based products. They tend to have higher standards. Here are some two natural ingredients that are safe to use https://www.creativelycultured.com/2023/01/from-ashy-to-classy-skin-care-for.html
